Magnuson Moss Warranty Act & Your Newer Car
Image
Dear Lynn, I own a 2013 Acura. The dealership told me that I have to take my car to them to keep the warranty valid. It is both inconvenient and expensive to go there. Plus, I never get to talk with the same person about my car. Can I bring my car to you and still keep my warranty protected? -Susan
Susan, Yes! The great news is that you can have your vehicle serviced at your choice of establishment or even perform the maintenance work yourself in your driveway. Always be sure to use quality components that meet your vehicle manufacturer’s specifications and save the receipts. Be sure to do the recommended maintenance on schedule.

Self Driving Cars – Coming Soon To A Street Near You
Image
“Every car sold in America in 2030 will be capable of autonomous driving.” That is the prediction of many working on the technical side of the automotive industry. They also predict that the high end luxury models of about 2020 will be the first production autonomous cars to hit the road.

Almost every car I drive has some, if not a lot, of high end safety and driver aid equipment on it. Blind spot monitors, parking sensors, passive cruise control with braking control, lane departure detection and on some models lane correction, collision detection and avoidance, and even self parking have become common on most midsize and above cars. From these basic functions it is not a far step to fully self driving vehicles.

2014 Chevrolet SS Review
Image
Despite its Aussie origin, the SS screams American muscle car. With a powerful 415 horsepower V8 in front of the pedal I was constantly reminding myself to behave and wondered if there would still be a driver’s license in my pocket at the end of the week. Behind the steering wheel, it’s the kind of car that makes every stop light look like a racing tree. Pulling up next to a Camaro on the freeway I noticed the same look on the driver’s face that I had been experiencing all week – “Yes indeed, I am a teenager again.”
