Car Review – The 2013 Santa’s Sleigh

It is not often that an automotive journalist gets such a unique opportunity. This past week Santa’s shiny new Sleigh came off the production line a ahead of schedule allowing a few days for Santa’s transportation manager to show off the new ride. When the call came I jumped at the chance to get a firsthand look at the world’s most recognizable vehicle. Even if it had meant a trip to the North Pole wild Reindeer couldn’t have kept me away, but, to my surprise I didn’t have to travel nearly so far.
A little know fact is that the Sleigh is subcontracted to the DeLorean Motor Company in Humble Texas. Previous fabricators of the Sleigh include Pierce Arrow and Studebaker. The hand fabrication skills at DMC are more than equal to the task of building two copies each year and incorporating the latest technology without losing the intrinsic design appeal.

The hustle and bustle of the season makes it hard to get everything done. Sometimes its our vehicle maintenance and repair that gets overlooked.
